I went to My favorite Golf course again, and man what a night. I threw that black buzz bait again and caught dozens of slicks around both ponds. I also caught one that went 5 lbs easy and another about 3 lbs and a couple that were 1-2 lbs. It drizzeled for most of the evening with a light breeze. Both lakes are low since we have had no rain and that exposed the duck weed that surrounds the lake. Most of the smaller fish came from throwing parallel to the weed edges. The bigger fish came from the deeper water out at least ten feet from the weed edges. What a way to get exorcise, I walked at least 2 miles this evening, and got to catch a bunch of fish.

Those golf courses have to have some monsters. My golf game was never worth anything, so it would have been nice to fish the lakes instead. They are mostly untouched. Congrats on the nice bass.

emoIdea...my subdivision is surrounded by a golf course with three or four ponds on it! I wonder if they were ever stocked?

RR, great guess! Yes, I live in Snootyville. Thanks for the tip...will definitely check them out!

I kinda figured. I use to work there and fished those ponds on occasion. The ponds on the front 9 are older and will likely have the more mature fish in them, but the ones on the back 9 have probably come along nicely by now too. The pond behind the tee box on #2 and the one between the #3 green and #4 tee produced some decent fish. One evening when you get a little rain and everybody clears off the course, I'd go check 'em out. emoThumbsup

Sweet! We are allowed to walk the course in the evening as long as there is no cart traffic. I'm thinking about going out on the next full moon around midnight or so. Unfortunately, I've never played golf, so I may have to hunt a bit to figure out which green is which.

BTW, sorry for the hijack JTF emoAngel.

No problem Jason, I am kind of interested in how the ponds near you work out. They can be alot of fun if you don't fish them alot. I sore mouthed quite a few at this one golf course, so I am going to wait a couple weeks to go back out there.
