Where is the $$$$$ coming from, or is going to come from?
Whether it be a public, city, county, state or federal pension fund, sooner or later they will run out of people at the bottom paying for these funds, because the baby boomers are going to retire and they want everything they have worked for, and they will want it Now.
You guys/gals that have 10 or more years to work, I feel for you, 'cause you're going to be paying for all of us who built this great country and the government has slowly torn it down.
People have let this happen, because of greed and government handouts. Did you know that most SS recipients qualify for food stamps, now that's sad. The grasshopper and the ant is a perfect anology.
In the days of old, the Knights were bold, Counts, Discounts and Nocounts, sat around the round table, shooting camel manure, and the King said, "we're going broke." So, the King sent out his men to collect and take more taxes, and so the story goes.

That is a bad misconception. Since people have been paying into Social Security for the past Seventy Five years they can not draw out more than what they paid in. Your return is based on what you paid in. I would say that a very few if any at all ever draw out what they have paid into the system. So look at it like this all the Extra money not paid out is still in the pot and drawing interest. What about all the thousands of people who haveworked their entire lifethen up and die just prior to drawing out a single dime. See, all their money is still in the pot. All the folks who have worked their entire lives who have trustedSocial Security to have and hold their money have nothing to worry about when thet reach retirement age. Their money is there along with all that money never paid out to members who have died. I guess we could have allowed our Government to use the money that was never paid out for investments. Just the interest earned should be more than enough to cover all cost to retirees. I am so happy that we did not give our government the rights to blow our money. "NOT"</p>

The first recipient of SS was a woman who paid in less than $1000 and drew out over $30,000....go figure,,and the figures you have in mind do not decipher.
The US Government took the SS money and put it into the general fund to boost the bottom line...Where you been for the last 20 years? That's why it's BROKE... SS is broke>>>underfunded, the pyramid crumbled, it's in the Red,over drawn,defficit.nada...the Dems did it.They took your money and spent it. Hell-o..you just come back from a trip from abroad, say you been gone for 18 years? good gosh...this is what's been leading our country? and voting?
