Just curious to see if anyone of you guys out there does any grabblin. I've seen pics of some huge cats taken that way and would love to try it out or just tag along sometime and see how it's done, but I think it might scare the crap outta me - sounds like fun!

I just saw a video on it on that website minner posted and now I really want to try it - gotta be a hell of an adrenaline rush!!! besides, I just wanna get me a big ol cat! thanks for the info guys!

I used to do quite a bit back in the 80's.

Start shallow with stumps. Sloughs around Harrison Bay are surprising productive but not for the big ones. Rocky areas are good too. Snakes and turtles aren't a problem on the lake. Creeks can be scary.

We never wore gloves. You need to feel. They'll bite you when you go in but will often be stubborn about letting you get your hand in their mouth. They'll shred your fingers a little like rubbing coarse sandpaper real hard on them but that's part of.

The literature out there is accurate. The main thing is to find all the exit holes before you go in.

Just now seen the post. I have done it for about 3 years now and I have the best trainers in the world in the CatfishGrabblers pair. It is really not as hard as it looks you just have to know what you are looking for or you will be waisting your time. I have only done it from on the bank where I could drive to because I have no boat and with the Grabblers in their boat. The main thing like above is to be sure to block all exits or they will be gone. I have never found a snake or turtle in any of the holes on the lakes and I will probably never try it on the smaller rivers or creeks because I don't want to find a turtle or snake. If you know what you are looking for you can find fish in any lake around. PM me.
