Got up Saturday morning and the downstairs was cooooold...no heat

. According to the thermostat, the heat is on. I can hear the unit running but there is no airflow out of the vents. I switched over to AC and it works fine. It is a gas unit so I'm assuming the problem has something to do with the pilot light or some sort of fan relay tied to it

Anyone have any experience with gas units?

Jason, mine (a Carrier unit) did the same thing a few years ago...had to have a new switch/solenoid or something to that effect installed as the pilot light was not staying lit. I had just bought my house so it was covered by warranty...so the warranty company sent someone out.

Thanks for the tip, DHaun. Mine is only about 4 years-old and likely under warranty, however, I'd rather not deal with the bunch who installed it

. I'm going to open the unit up tomorrow and see what I can figure out with a volt-meter and the manual.

Jason, give me a call and I will put you intouch with the best H/AC tech around... I have worked with him for 12 years and we stay covered up and he ain't even in the phone book. so you know word of mouth is good.... 423 314 3260 or you can call him...Jess Kerley 423 9023301 and tell him that I had you call him....FA

It could be your gas valve or your pilot assembly. It ain't firing and probably what you are hearing is your power vent motor running....just a thought... Try this,,, turn off your unit at the thermos stat, let it stay off for a minute or two then turn unit back on and run the t-stat up to about 90 and see if it will re-light...it takes a few minutes so don't get impatient... if that don't work call jess.
