ah.....I mean hunters.emoBigsmile This cool weather has me looking into fields for horns. I have got a case of buck fever bad and the freezer is empty of deer meat. Bow season starts this Saturday and I have my spot all picked out and I am itching to go try it. Changed out my broadheads yesterday and put on all new razors. I think I am going meat hunting to start with but if a big boy comes in range I am not going to complain. I am seeing a lot of deer still in velvet but there also seems to be some that are shedding it now. Man, I love this time of year when the trees start to turn and the nights are cool. The sound of a gobbler off in the distence, the morning fog starting to lift and a snap of a twig as a deer is coming up into view.emoWorthy That is the blessing of the outdoors, thank you Lord.emoAngel Jmax

Yes Sir!  I plan to be there as well.  Got several trees all in productive spots so I am not sure which one i will be in.  There is one thing I hate about good spots to hunt;  Why is it that no matter which tree you climb, you start feeling that you should have climbed the other one?</p>

I haven't missed an opening day in 24 years, and i was in the middle of the Meditteranean then. Not enough deer out there to bother messing with.

I've got a few pics of does and a couple of small bucks off of my feedplot across from the house, but Mr. Big has sucessfully evaded the camera. His tracks have appeared a couple of times around the edge, but he was either just out of view of the camera or the batteries were dead. i saw him last week, so I know that he has not been hit by a car like his running buddy. From what I could tell he was a solid 8-point, maybe 17 - 18" wide with tall tines. hopefully I'll get a closer look at him tomorrow morning.

Don't get me wrong...TENDERLOIN is my main concern!!!
