I guess you didnt read my skip-jack report from last Sunday then....I was hoping for more detail than that though.

I think the best time spur hunter is at the butt crack of dawn or in the evening but like fishinvol said they can be caught anytime of day this time of year. I suggest you go over to hamiltons sports shop and get you some of those popping bobbers that let you throw a mile and a half and tell me a night when you want to meet next week after I get off of work. I will come show you how its done emoPoke.

I was serious, I can go at any given point during the day and catch a skipjack this time of year. The baitfish are thick enough to catch them all day long.

I will have to read my report again I guess....I thought I had said I did catch some, lost a few, but there was virtualy NO skipjack activity at all that day. The time I had been before was "hopping", but I just had the wrong set-up that time. Bending hooks, and wrong size jigs and such. I THINK I might have the gig firured out now, but just would like to maximize my time there when there is more action.

Just walk the whole bank. If they aren't up near the peir, then walk down some. I would walk all the way down just past the train bridge sometimes. They hang around that current break down there. I've been a bank fisherman pretty much my whole life and have been fish that bank for over 10 years. Those stinkin fish are always there, you may just have to find them first.
