anybody checkin out any dove fields yet ??

Just curious if anybody is lookin yet. I`m hearing some of the farmers were late getting the crops out with all the rain this spring.</p>

I usually hunt up around sweetwater and will be checkin out my usual spots soon.</p>

I always like to hear about some hotspots a little further south if any of you find some. </p>

Some years you need a lot of options.</p>

I think the birds have learned to hang in the cities. I see more doves around here at Hunter Oil than I ever have in a baited field.

We've got 20 acres of sunflowers and another 15 of winter wheat on North Chickamauga Creek WMA. Seems to be a ton of doves this year so it should be a good shoot.

Welcome to shoot lead.... we only hunt the upland areas not near the waterfowl impoundments. Would be glad to have you.

I made my first round.....4 dairys in the Philadelphia/Sweetwater area of Loudon/Monroe counties. Billy Barr has Plenty of corn be ready for chop in 2-3 weeks probably....probably be a State lease field. John Barr down the road has soybeans. Aj Smith has corn that looks to be real late. Snake Watson has plenty of corn and beans with chop in 2-3 weeks ...probably a lease. One of the other Watson brothers has mostly corn.
Overall less corn than last year which may concentrate the birds a little more.
Got couple more farms to check out around here.

Post any thing you hear about ......I don`t mind travelin a little for the right field !! Especially the next weekend or two after opening day.

Made a second round look of my fields today to check on cutting status. Also checked on the Harrison field I hunted last year for the first time. .Harrisons is corn and looks ready to chop/pick. A.J.started picking just a little...may be a private group hunt again this year though. Snake Watson has made one round so far and may have been caught by the rain we seem to get every other day lately.Billy Barr looks to be in the same situation....rain. If they can get the time to cut it should be ready by Sept 1.

Anybody else lookin around ????
