Hey guys, really would like to make it out on Wed or Thursday after work. Thinking about going to either Cassandra Smith (varner unit) or Middle Valley WMA. Any suggestion for going there, other than to make sure I have a helmet and eye protection? emoLaugh

I had thought about going to the WMA fields off of Armstrong rd on Soddy Creek, but I couldn't find it in this years WMA guide. Is it still huntable by the public? Is it any good for dove hunting?

I have not been able to go dove hunting yet in TN and want to make sure I'm safe and have a good time. If anyone is going this week and has room for compnay, please let me know, I am always looking to learn.

Thanks!

I will be going at the Philadelphia exit near Loudon. Should be TWRA lease...usually a good shoot...been going there for several years. You`re more than welcome.

the unit off of armstrong road is open, it is just listed in the hunting guide as north chickamauga creek.

Come on and have fun, just remember to be respectful of others.

... I don't know who's property it was, but the other day I was driving up Grorgetown Rd. and saw several fields both cut and uncut corn and millet. I have never seen so many doves! They were just sitting on the power lines! I'm mean by the hundreds, maybe more!

Hey frazier, are you going to the armstrong field? If so, pm me and maybe we can meet up.

Since i will be coming after work, there will probably already be people on field. What is typical etiqutte for coming and going? Is it better to walk in the woods arond perimeter and behind people? Do many people run retrievers at the wma, or just walk out and pick their birds up?

Thanks!
Thanks

Jason,
I will be hunting private land. However when you get to your field of choice, just walk around the perimeter. You should have no problems cutting across a field to get to your spot as long as you are safe about it though.
You wont see many dogs...

That was our field last year....some Jack-wagons came in and payed 10 times, (yes, thats right) what we payed, and now are charging $150 per hunter to shoot it. If your interested, I will get you the contact info. ;)</p>
