Anyone ever catfish at Watts Bar?

I am planning a trip to Watts Bar Saturday. Does anyone know of any good spots? I have heard that there are alot of big cats up there. I am going to put in at the dam right by the swimming area. Thanks for any advice.

Are you going on Watts or below the Dam? I am assuming on, hence the swimming area comment?

I would suggest any drops, channel ledges right above the dam. Anywhere the current is moving in those locations should be a good bet to try. Good luck!

Watta Bar has some of the best catfishing around if you don't like to eat your catch. They have signs everywhere warning not to eat ANY catfish,stripers or bass from there.

Thats what i hear. I am taking a couple of friends from church hoping to put them on a big one. I talked to Andy Morgan a few weeks ago and he was telling me how he had caught some really big cats on crankbaits by accident. We got talking about catfishing and he said that Watts Bar was the place to go if you want to hang a big one.

There is a guy over on the BOC named craddock. He fishes Watts Bar regularly and catches some good fish. Might just take a look over there under local Tennessee fishing or Tennessee Lakes. His posts are numerous.
