how about you wrechin ? you got one for cheap ?
also looking for a steering wheel tilt trim switch that works used

Sean,
I can make you the trim harness or send you a diagram. All you need is 2 5 pin ISO relays (Very common) and some wiring. It is wired backwards from the normal. Has to wired where at rest both trim motor wires are grounded. Pretty simple though. I think even YOU could figure it out!!!LOL!!! Just call me tomorrow.

Gee thanx, sending diagram would be easier, me and verbal instructions dont get along well, got see it to grasp it !

Here ya go. Because a relay has continuity between 30 and 87A in the off state it grounds both wires. When you activate the relay you have continuity between 87 and 30 make you have power and a ground. Simply put a jumper between 85 and 87A for the ground on the controll circuit. Where it is backwards is usually you put the power on 30 and the accessory on 87. Hope this helps!!!!

check junk yards and look for dodge trucks. its the same relay. i bought 6 the other week for $5. now i have backups

YEP!!! Most 5 Pin relays are ISO so they have to be wired the same. So if it is a square relay with 5 pins numbere 30, 87A, 87, 85,and 86 they will work! Even the smaller rectangle ones are wired he same, just different pins and shape.

How are you going ro reverse polarity with a toggle? That is what you have to do with a 2 wire DC motor to get it to go in reverse. Most toggle switches will not handle the amp load that a trim motor will produce under load for long. Most relays are 30 amp with some being 40 amp. The 2 relay system has been used on boats since the mid-late 70's. Just my thoughts...

i have 2 toggle switch that i installed on my boat that does switch polarity according to up or down.they have been working fine for 3 years now.

If you insist on using toggles why not use a dual throw/ 6 blade switch to do it? That way it is only one switch. If I get what you have, you are havine to flip both at the same time. The single swich is alot more simple. But the relays are alot better system. In my opinion.

they are what u are describing.i get them from work sometime they are in mack trucks to make the windows go up and down, not sure what amprage they can handle but are doing good so far.it was just the means i had at the time my trim solenoids quit.

Come on now Mike. You are following all this! LOL!

Most automotive use 2 relays for the locks but the windows are usually a heavy amp switch. New cars use drivers in the control modules to do both. Most normal toggles would not last too awful long under those conditions. It is not as bad as it looks to wire the 2 relays in. Have done many.
