They are located on Bonny Oaks in Chattanooga, and I was sent to them by White Cycle. They tracked down a wiring harness for my 140hp Mercury, and I was considering letting them do the work. They quoted me $75/hour, and the job taking about an hour. Does anyone have any experience with them?

I want to remind everyone of our no-bashing policy.  You might want to consider replying in the form of a PM.

Sportsman's Marine is great on finding hard to find items. They got your harness for you didn't they. I have found things there in stock whereas it was not available anywhere else. They have been in business right there at that location for as long as I can remember so he must being something right. I have not had any work performed there, But $75.00 per hour may even be a little cheaper than some of the other shops in the area. If he can get you in and out fast and get the job done right, that is what matters. Tell him you are a CFF member and that if he does give you good and quick service you will let us all know. That may help your dealings.

My point is that Nichols is a forum sponsor and that members of the forum should patronize those sponsors if we expect to keep them.

Excellent!!! I agree 100%

By the way, emoWelcome to CFF Sandalwood.

If you do go to Sportsman suggest to them to advertise and support CFF.

Sportsman Marine is a good source for after-market parts. If you're a bargain hunter like me they are a good place to check for prices. They are authorized dealers for major manufacturers too so you can get prices both ways.

They are a family-Christian oriented operation. I live near Cleveland and quit dealing with Cleveland Boat center over their policy of not selling any parts unless their mechanic installed them during the OMC bankrupcy. I went to the next closest shop (Sportsman) and have been happy ever since.

Nichols and Chattanooga Marine are excellent too. I personally think it's like a dentist or doctor; it who you're comfortable with. I'm comfortable with all three!

If you go to Nichols ask Carter if he knows anything about some shotguns on the bottom of South Chickamauga Creek!

Thanks for all the replies, gentlemen. I think I know what I will do now. I appreciate the advice!

And thanks for all the welcomes, as well. I hope to be more active on the forum soon. I've just been very busy lately.
