Hello guys, I have an 18' Sylvan boat I drive up from North Georgia about 2 times per year to fish around Nickajack. It is not my main boat, so I could afford to be without it. The 4 hr drive up and back (especially through Atlanta!) is tough. I would love to leave it up there and just drive up and fish. I am mainly looking for an inexpensive alternative to costly covered storage or dragging it up and back. I am willing to leave it under a boat cover in a field as long as it has some type of security and perhaps the means to keep batteries charged. I appreciate all help and suggestions.

Thanks!

Although it might be out of your way, check with JR's Marina and see if he could store it for you. I know a lot of folks do it that way there. Speaking of JR, has anyone heard how he's doing? :( :(

Other than that, I don't really know what to tell you.

:) You could leave it at my house!!! The only fee would be the use of it when you aren't! AND .. Promise to keep the battery charged for ya. hahahahahaha

I live 3 minutes from Harrison Bay State Park but would be willing to tote over to Nick when ya needed it!

John, I haven't heard lately but the store still isn't open. Been trying to call and can't get an answer. He was in bad shape a couple a weeks ago..

I got an e-mail from someone that was answering the e-mail at JR's. This was before I knew anything about JR's condition.

Sad information, cause JR is a good ole fellow, and one heck of an angler. Over the last 8 years, I could always count on him to sell me the "jig of the day", which was a color that they were overstocked on, and that a crappie hadn't hit in a while. :( Hope that it's not the last time I get to buy them.

Try Battlefield Storage. It is just about 2 miles off of 75 on Battlefield Parkway.

you could probably park it behind my house I live in east ridge right off 75 on your way to nickajack. You could shoot me a PM when you needed it charged and I would throw it on the charger. I could do that for you for 20 bucks a month or so.

Theres a new place in Cleveland TN that has boat and rv storage. It's at Calfee's Market on hwy 64 just east of the APD 40 by-pass at the red light there. Just up the street from Cleveland boat center. Don't know their rates or anything but its all new. building.

Thanks for everyone's replies! I really appreciate all the possibilities. To be honest, I would certainly entertain the notion of having you use it TT, as it's ready to fish with 115 hp Johnson, AutoPilot trolling motor, Lowrance X-85, etc... and foodsaver, I'd definitely consider placing it in your yard as well. I just would love to avoid the hassle of dragging it through all that traffic (and it would probably save me at least the $20/month on each trip I made in gas savings alone). I'd definitely be tempted to come up and fish more than I do now. As far as the storage places mentioned, I will contact them all if I can locate phone #'s on the internet, as I really don't know the area all that well. I usually just drive straight up 75 and get off on 24 and then stay at the Acuff Inn.

My email is [email protected]. Anyone feel free to contact me at any time. I will definitely try to get the boat up there between now and the fall.

Thank you all again and God bless each of you!
