I have heard some good reviews, but would like to know something local first. </p>

I thought about getting this but havent pulled the trigger yet. I guess if my navionics card goes out while on the water I can easily do a quick download of it.

I downloaded it. The maps have good detail. Its a little slow to load on the 3G but you can actually download sections of the map to your phone when your on a Wifi connection. I wouldnt use it as the main GPS on my boat, but it sure is nice to look at when your studying a body of water.

Yep. I have it and use it on the pontoon. The iPhone version is not as fast as my Lowrance, but the pontoon is not fast anyway. It is fine for the pontoon but it would not be much use for the bass boat considering what I am used to. But for under $10 it will be worth it for a lot of people I suspect. If you don't have a GPS, for less than $10 you can't go wrong. Just have a charger for the phone with you because it will eat up the battery life.
