I just found this show this year, seen a couple episodes so far. I am really torn here, I don't think the Japs should be killing these whales in defiance of a treaty, but I have to say I like watching the Sea Shepards fail miserably. The Idiot Watson always has a "What day is it" look on his face, and the captain of the Bob Barker has the exact same look.

I really loved the time they had to meet near that island and lost their small boats, and the knot-head gunned it in the rocks and completly destroyed the lower unit. emoDoh emoDoh

man i love watching this show. im like you i think the japs should obey the international ban but man i just love watching all the stupid stuff these sea shephards try just to protect the whales. and it seems like they always fail. hey you should look up the one where they have their little speed boat thats supposed to slow down the main ship while the others try to find the ships hunting the whales. long story short this little million dollar speed boat is trying to slow down the whaling ship so what does the ship do??? he just turns and runs the million dollar speed boat over! emoBang emoDoh emoDoh PRICELESS

I have seen the clips of the Ady Gil sinking, but not that episode. Have to see the full thing some time. Hope DVR records that one for me.

Yeah its pretty sorry on the japs part if you ask me but still in an odd way i find myself thinking "thats what you get for trying the impossible"

I watched it 1 time and I thought it was one of the dumbest shows I've ever seen. Bunch of Green Peace idiots risking their lives in vain. They'll never stop the Japs from killing whales, as much as I disagree with it. And that captain has the dumbest look on his face all the time like he doesn't know where he is.

That was hilarious! emoUpsmile

i can remember watching one where the helicopter pilot takes his helicopter to try and find some whaling ships for the sea shephards could launch one of their meaningless attacks on, and the idiot got too far away from the ship and almost run out of gas and crashed into the ocean it was hilarious. the guy was flying back to the ship and the ship was going toward him and he barely made it before his engine quit. i mean i would have hated for the guy to have crashed and died but sometimes them dang idiots just need to think before they act. emoBang emoHoppingmad

Japan is breaking no laws. They are members of the International Convention for the Regulation of Whaling. They are allowed to hunt whales under scientific purposes, through the Institute of Cetacean Research. They are collected for science, and according ot IWC Laws they are allowed to sell the meat as a biproduct of the research. There is nothing wrong with what they are doing.

The Whale War people are freakin' lunatic fringe, who skew what is right and wrong. Everyone of them that gets arrested deserve it.

No doubt I am all for research, but do they have to kill 1050 whales (self-imposed qouta) a season to do it? I also dont understand why they dump the guts and entrails back in the sea, wouldnt those be useful in the research?
Knowing what whale meat sells for in Japan also leaves me suspect of the whole "research" banner. emoScratch

i dont know i'm kind of torn between the two on this issue...i think if the japs have permission then good let them harvest as many as need be to get it done, on the other hand if they are breaking the law and harvestiong whales somewhere they shouldnt be then i think they should be reprimanded for it. BUT i dont think a bunch of yahoos screaming SAVE THE WHALES should be the ones reprimanding them. it should be a government of some kind, not sure who but definitely not the sea shephards.

IWC is buying it, so its sufficient to me. I'm not sure about the numbers though. Whale meat is delicious, heck I'd have seconds.

Swamp people is MUCH better for sure. The fact they wont show a kill-shot makes me wonder if they are tree-huggers though. (the producers I mean)
