I bought a white boat last fall and have been very disappointed with brown "stuff" on my boat that I can not scrub off. Found a concoction of Lysol toilet cleaner and hydrogen peroxide mixed at 50-50 that so far seems great. I have only tried the rear back corner of my boat and it looks great. Wipe on and the stain just disappears - this is amazing after the extremely hard scrubbing and buffing I have tried before. I say apparent as I am waiting to see if there are any side affects that I have not seen yet on my small spot. I did not want to use muratic acid like a lot of folks recommend - hope what I have found is not worse. If no side affects, plan on wiping her down and a good wax job to help with future problems. Hope this helps someone and if I see any adverse side affects, will let you know..... Jim

I've had white boats for years. Have you tried 50/50 white vinegar and water? Lots of folks swear by Bass Boat Saver or similar "wax as you dry" products. I wouldn't use muratic acid on my glass boat. Wipe it down at the ramp. Don't wait until you get home. Hope yours works out.

Thanks for the reply. I'll try the vinegar and water and see how it compares. I've bought different over the counter stuff and nothing seems to touch what I tried last night. It didn't burn my hands, so I'm assuming it's nothing too corrosive to the boat. Plan is to clean it good and then give it a good coat of wax so it is easier to keep clean.

Waiting to hear the results - before I wear myself out cleaning my white(ish) boat................ emoBigsmile emoBigsmile

Also, I'm thinking the Mr. Clean Magic Eraser might work wonders - it's great on fiberglass showers, etc.

*Note* - Just tried it, really works nice. We had the ones labled "Extra Power". Takes some rubbing, but you can get that brown background "cloudiness" off of the white too. I think I'll spend 15 minutes at a time and just do smaller sections. I'm old............................

Don't know about fiberglass, but I spray a 50/50 mix of bleach and water on my aluminum boat, wait just a few minutes, then rinse off with a garden hose. Have to lightly rub a few spots, but most of the scum rinses off with no rubbing.

It may be a couple of weeks till I can really clean the old girl up. I want to wait until I have time to clean and then put a good coat of wax on it. I think if I clean without the wax I'll just have the same problem. I can tell you that I have seen no problems on the 2' x 2' spot that I hit the other night and what I was using has not eaten through the bottom of the solo cup and didn't burn my hands so I think it's ok emoSmile . I did read that the Lysol toilet cleaner with clorox won't work for whatever reason - this was just the plain blue stuff. I have bought a couple of different products and scrubbed and scrubbed and was really disappointed that I couldn't clean it. All I had to do was pretty much wipe this stuff on and the brown went away with very, very little effort. Hope this helps and I'll still post when I'm finished......

Like Eric said Mr. Clean Magic Eraser should do a great job on your boat. I have seen it work wonders on boats with old stains that have set in. Good luck.

I have a White Proline CC with a bunch of white surfaces, Try to get a rust stain up... The very best cleaner for stains is Fast Orange hand cleaner on a damp sponge. Just rinse it clean. There is a very small amount of abrasion but it has never dulled the gloss on my boat. It actually makes it brighter.
