I created a recipe that is very low in sugar, tastes great and uses up the apples from my tree.
If you don't have an apple tree, buy some tart apples like Granny Smiths.
Apple Plum Crisp
5-6 apples, peeled, quartered, sliced 1/4" thick. Put in a bowl of cold water with 1/2 tsp salt to keep from browning.
6 ripe plums, quartered, sliced
Drain apples and mix with plums. Add 1 tsp Truvia, 2 tsp cinnamon, and the juice of 1 lemon. Toss together and put into greased 8X8 pan.
Mix 1/2 cup flour, 1/2 cup quick oatmeal, 2-3 tsp cinnamon, 2Tbsp Truvia, 1/4 cup brown sugar together. Spoon on top of fruit.
Now for a great trick. Take a cheese slicer. The wire ones works best. Slice lengthwise 1 stick of butter and place on top of the crumb mixture. The slices should completely cover the top.
Bake 375° for 40 minutes. It will be bubbly.
Eat with ice cream or whip cream.
Enjoy!
