Yeah it’s really not tho because the “Chick” is on the downfall . Thanks but no thanks to social media. Haha. It’s no wonder rogne brown quit. Can’t blame him. Got out when the time was right and he knew it.

Explain downfall, to me its the same as its has been for years. Record was broke last month and in a normal weather pattern fish start spawning in April, which is what this year seems to be. I bet the wind played a big role on some of these guys as beds were hard to see, with clouds and 25 mph winds. 17.17 with 3 fish, were weighed in the Saturday before, in CFF Trail.  Don't see a downfall here, just more angler's fishing it. Congrats to the winners!! emoThumbsup emoThumbsup

Yep, it's on the downfall, no sense in going there, all the big bass have either locked thru to the Nick or Watt's Bar. emoRolleyes Anyone planning a trip to the Chick needs to go somewhere else. Especially next week cause I will be there. emoEvil Jmax

That’s not the first time the Powell Brothers have locked thru during the spawn to whoop some Chick anglers, trust me. But looking at overall weights over the past couple months, fishing is tougher on chick than it has been. Compare the amount of limits weighed in March and April over the last 4 years....pressure is getting to it.

It is off here in AR too. I am not as sure as the pressure or the weather. Maybe a little of both. Most of the tournaments around here are being won by less then they usually are. Lake Millwood just had a big one on it. Usually 25 to 30 wins it. It did take over 20 to win but fell off really fast. A buddy of mine took 9th with 15 and some change. Today here at Hot Springs Village it is in the low thirties with high winds. emoBang Seems more like January then April. I would not panic yet, but if you would rather I here the bass in FL are on big times right now. ;) Jmax

I agree with you Justin, pressure is making it tougher. I had a conversation with the guys up at Soddy Custom Tackle at the beginning of last year; and they said that this year (2017), will be a true test for the chick. With all the normal tournaments, then add high school and pro events, Chickamauga got hammered from spring to fall. I think it’s taking its toll....

I noticed a big difference after the month long hammer fest last year between the two opens and the high school tournament. Not only were they harder to catch but alot of the fish were in poor shape. Sores all over them, ripped mouths from hooks and puncture tags, hooks and baits down their throats etc etc.

It's really amazing that it's held up this long with all the pressure and tournaments 7 days a week for the majority of the year but it's starting downhill and will continue that way. God forbid the elites or flw pros put it on the schedule in the next year or two.

It will continue to get tougher and tougher as pressure gets heavier & if the elimination of habitat [Pre-spraying vast shoreline areas when the water was down, with pre-emergent herbicides] continues, we may be calling our beloved lake, Lake Sickamauga again!

Thanks Charlie Myers and Leonard Steele! We feel very blessed. Congrats to all the money winners!! Thanks for posting Jmax! Good luck when you roll into town buddy!

Rogne quit guiding? Or quit fishing CBAs?</p>

I think the pressure and social media is killing the lake... Social media is skipping the "fishing" part to find the right areas bc people tell them exactly where to go, which ruins those areas for a while. Wolftever is the one area ive noticed that has gotten pounded the past few weeks.

I used to love tourney fishing and fun fishing on chick, but its getting really out of hand now and i pick and choose the days that i go...
