He will be a good coach for a program to pick up. Someone like ole miss or nebraska might get him. good luck to him where ever he goes!

Yep...like I said he is a good person. I wonder how they did his contract. Any guesses on who they will get to take his place? It is like, "Here we go again."emoRolleyes Jmax

I'd say he won't be out of work long unless he just wants to be....that win Saturday sure looks good on a resume....but us Tennessee fans sure will miss him!!!!

HA HA xroads! We HAVE beat yall a few times in the last ten years. The great pumpkin would be looking for a job too, if not for the win against GA. So i guess you either put out, or get out when you get paid 2 million a year to coach. Jmax, i dont know who we will get, i just hope they leave Dave Wanstadt at pittsburg! Maybe we will luck up and get former dallas coach jimmy johnsonemoBigsmile

Hoggerhead, just think about how easily Phat Phil could be 6-6!!!!! And he is probably gonna get a raise for winning the East!! I guess I can't get on him too bad because they could have folded it up and quit after the Bama butt kickin!

Yeah, they could have. Thats the funny thing about college football, Unless you are just flat out lucky, you will lose some close games. Whether it be by field goal or by missed field goal. Tennessee is like arkansas was last year, vandy should have beat us by field goal, bama should have beat us by field goal, and south carolina should have beat us by field goal. Like the fumble in 98, it was tennessee's turn to get lucky. This weeks game should be a humdinger!

People need to get use to The SEC being alot like the NFL, rarely will anyone go undefeated. With recruiting the way it is the playing field is only going to get more level. One more teams are getting National recognition, two hig schools are producing more athletes primarily because of the relationship between College and high school coaches, there is no teling how many College coaches I have set down with and talked schemes and fundamentals with. Basically as coaches we are just a bunch of theives. For what I see a teams success is becoming less of what coaches are doing, because for the most part it is more about fundamentals than schemes, any scheme will just about work if you execuite proper fundamentals. It seems to me it is more about staying healthy these days because one or two players being out can make a big difference. Look at Oregan now without their QB, and Florida would be a different team without Tebow. Now don't get me wrong Coaching does have a lot to do with it, just as not as much in the past.

6-6 is a funny thing. Got Shula canned a year after a 10 win season. then the great and mighty Saban with his 4 million then goes 6-6 with a lose to Whoisana monroe!!!! I am sure Saban will get AL back on track but i do not see it next year. I noticed that they had 6 or 7 starters on D that were seniors against Auburn. That is a lot of spots to fill on a team that was very thin this year.
