CFF #4, originally scheduled for May 16, out of Grasshopper has been CHANGED to Harrison Bay State Park. We are taking advantage of the opportunity to combine our tournament with the Catch Ministries "Relay for Life - Fishing for a Cure" tx, which supports the American Cancer Society. This will be a "tournamet in a tournament" concept with the CFF tx remaining intact with a few modifications and the CFF rules will apply, unless otherwise noted. CFF anglers will have the option to fish both tx's by paying both entry fees, however, CATCH rules apply to anyone participating in both. **PLEASE READ CATCH POST FOR RULES AND OTHER DETAILS**

There are three basic POINTS OF INTEREST:

1) CFF blast-off will happen just proir to CATCH outside the mouth of Harrison Bay. This includes only those participating in the CFF (honor system).

2) This will be a three (3) fish limt!

3) Weigh-in will be conducted by CATCH (actually Cleveland Bassmasters) with CFF weights being recorded seperately by CFF tx committee and payout will be handled seperately as well. Make sure to hang on to your token and present it at weigh-in to eliminate any confusion.

Anyone wishing to participate in both tx, must follow CATCH sign-up instructions as well asthe normal CFF sign-in at the ramp. **NOTE** The 150 post rule and two pass exception will remain in effect!!!!

Fishing hours will be determined by CATCH.

The guys at CATCH have ask us to come hungry!!! They will be selling breakfast items in the morning and hot dogs and such at the weigh-in. The money you spend may improve someone's life!!

Please feel free to post any questions you may have so we don't have any surprises.

This isgoing to be a great event, with a great turn-out. Please help get the word out so no one shows up atGrasshopper. Thanks to everyone for accomodating this change, but more importantly, forsupporting a good cause!! Thanks Al

CATCH and the Cleveland Bassmasters will host this benefit tournament on May 16 at HBSP. It will be run with CATCH Rules and they can be seen at www.catchministry.net. Cleveland Bassmasters will handle the weigh-in. We will pre-register on Friday night May 15 at Hamilton's Sport Shop and Smokey Mountain Tackle. Odd numbers 1-199 will be at Hamilton's and even numbers 2-200 will be at Smokey Mountain. You can redraw for $5 per draw and all redraw $$ goes to Relay for Life. If you sign-up Saturday morning you don't draw a number, you are assigned at the end of the line on a first come first serve basis. This is a CATCH Tournament Trail event also for CATCH fishermen, but it is open to everyone.

1. Pre-register at both locations from 4:30pm-7:30pm
2. wave-off begins promptly and 6:30am (weather permitting) and weigh-in at 2pm (maybe flights depending on number of entries)
3. 3 fish limit - could take a while to weigh-in, so we will call groups of folks to bring fish to scales
4. $50 per boat ($20 to prize fund - $20 to American Cancer Society - $10 Big Fish)
---small prize fund amount, but we're expecting 100+ boats
5. paying big fish all three species in equal amounts
6. launch single file
7. no locking through

We are blessed that CFFers have joined us in this tournament to do our part to fight against CANCER. I know that so many of you have been touched by this terrible disease in some way. We will have a heros board to post the pix of the ones that you are fishing in honor of ( if they have fought the battle and have won) or are fishing in memory of ( have lost the battle with cancer) so bring a picture that we can tack up with a thumb tack (this will leave a small hole in the top) We will also announce when you are weighing in the person that you are fishing for and what type of cancer we are fighting against.
It is going to be a great day when three great organizations like CFF :emoticon:logo Cleveland Bass Masters emoAngler and CATCH MinistryemoAngel can get together for the good of fishing and for this fight that we are all touched by.
We will be taking orders for Hardies sausage biscuits in the morning and for hotdogs and chips after a hard day on the water. These funds will go to the American Cancer Society. Please order when you register so we will know how many to buy. They will also be taking donations for those who heart is to give. We at CATCH are excited and praying for great weather and for unity at the ramp. Know that you will be prayed for.emoThanks

Willy,
So us CFF folks will only pay our fee right? I understand we are following CATCH's times - 6:30-2pm. I also understand that the weigh-in will be separate. Is part of our tx boat fee going to CATCH and relay for life? I think its great and all, just wondering why the combination, or why taking the opportunity to combine. Either way I think it will be good. Thanks.

Matt

Matt, you will pay our normal $30 entry fee ($25/$5BF) if you only fish the CFF tx and it will be 100% payback as always. None of our fee will go to CATCH, but I know they would gladly accept donations. The reasons were numerous. Thanks for the question and we look forward to seeing you Sat. Al

fischnrod - 5/10/2009 5:33 PM Do you have to sign a waiver for every tx?

I'm going out on a limb on this one but if you have a signed waiver for a previous 2009 CFF tx, then you won't have to sign another, however if you plan on fishing both, you will probably have to sign one for CATCH. Maybe gumby78 or Catchman will chime in. Thanks, Al

Willy,

Matt

Al, Let me get this straight....
If I want to fish just the CFF it is the normal..$30.00.
If I want to fish just the Catch/Relay it is .....$50.00.
If I want to fish them both then it is..............$80.00.

The weigh-in is the same one but there will be someone recording weights for the CFF and the Catch if you choose to fish both. Keep your tokens and turn them in as always.

If only fishing the CFF we blast off just before the Catch but if you are fishing both you wait for your number to be called. Catch rules apply if you fish in theirs.

Does that about cover it? emoAngel Jmax

P.S. I think that was a good call to help them out by combining them. emoThumbsup

Excellent! See you guys saturday. This will be my first CFF tx. Beware because If I recognize you I will probably let you know Im following your footsteps and asking what I need to do. However, if any of you guys could give me a couple of directions...who to look for, who to pay, how blast off takes place an all. I have only ever fished a tx with someone else and it was real laid back. I just dont want to hold anybody up. I just want to make sure Im with the right crowd and in the water ready to go. Thanks guys.

Matt

elwestb - 5/10/2009 8:12 PM ... ? Are both TX's a three fish limit? Also on previous posting it was said that you had to sign a waver on every TX! Is that still correct?

I can definitely confirm the 3 fish limit for both tx. As for as the waiver, I'll let Billy respond as to what Fisrt Light Net requires. Thanks, Al

A CATCH waiver will have to be signed if you are fishing CATCH also. It is a three fish limit and the blast off time is 6:30am. If there is more than 1 flight and you are fishing both and you are in teh 2nd flight then you will be back at the designated CATCH time. ie: if you are in the 2nd flight and they blast off at 7 then you will be back at 2:30. We will give everyone the same amount of time to fish... I hope to see ya'll out there on Saturday.

Looks like you have it figured out. This is a CATCH Tournament Trail event, but since the Cleveland Bassmasters had to cancel the Partnership for Healthy Children tournament, they have joined forces with us. This is open to all and may get a little crazy. CB will handle weigh-in with CATCH help for the entire event. CFF folks will record CFF standings. CATCH standings will be determined after all have been weighed in. For example, if the best CATCH finisher is 25th place and doesn't place that team will still get first place points in our Trail results. We are going to take food orders at the pre-registration on Friday night. If you plan to just fish CFF and want sausage biscuits or hot dogs, chips and a drink - please send me a pm. We don't want to have too much, but we want all to have what they would like.

I might be missing somthing, but what about the difference in the scales?

There is only one set of scales. The catch will weigh the bass one time, the weight of those three fish will count for one or both depending on if you are fishing only one of them or both of them. There is not two different wiegh ins, just the one that counts for both. emoAngel Jmax

Ok, so all the CFF fish will be weighed on the Catch scales even if you dont fish the catch tx?

Wet Willie I want to thank you and the tx committee from CFF. Thank you for recognizing a good cause and stepping up. Thank you to the folks that fish the CFF txs for participating in this tx. I'm sure as excited as we all are about this tx the folks at ARCH Chemical and the American Cancer Society will want us to do this again next year. My one little hamster wheel is turning inside my head already. Maybe next year we can all get together and make this part of each of our tx trails and not be scrabbling at the last moment. That being said all I can say is THANK YOU!!! Let's all go out there and CATCH some fish. It being a three fish limit will make it very competitive.

How are the weigh-ins to be conducted? In a specific numeric order? With CATCH calling for 100 boats, how will the CFF guys fit into the weigh-in? Will we weigh in before, after, or in the middle? Never fished CATCH, so I am just curious.

It is a great cause. I know for a fact, as I lost Mom to cancer 19 months ago.
