It is time once again for the CBA monthly open day bass tournament. It took 42 pounds to just win the Gen 273 two day classic so this one should be shaping up to be another good one. emoThumbsup Last year this same tournament was won by Zach and David Crider with a five fish limit that was 25.62 lbs. The weights are usually lower in the hot summer months so it will be hard to tell if this year it will remain that way. Last month in the July day CBA it took over 30 lbs to win. emoEek Last year right on the Crider's heels were the team of Damon Taylor and Justin Medley with 24.89 lbs. emoWorthy The lake has been fishing big this year, got any guesses on who will take this one? I am not sure anymore, seems the winners this year have been all over the map with some of the traditional winners struggling and some of the new teams coming up to the plate. Here is the father and son team of the Criders from last year's win, can they do it again?
The FLW Cup Classic was a perfect example of what we can expect this weekend. In a lot of areas the grass is on top with Bass that are migrating back into the shallows and setting up house in shallow water under the grass canopy. However there are still some large schools of bass working the drops and ledges out in deep water along the river. Two completely different patterns. Which one will win this weekend? I honestly have no idea. The Forest Wood Cup was won by John Cox fishing a shallow grass pattern and a lot of his better bass were caught on a frog. emoScratch The Chick grass is just starting to look good with the grass and already I am hearing of some monsters hitting in it. Who will figure them out, will it be shallow or deep, may be a combination of both? emoConfused To me this is what makes it so much fun, not only are you fishing against 60 to 80 more boats of some of the best anglers in our area but your also fishing against the weather and what the fish are doing. emoDance
Hope to see you out there! emoAngler Jmax
