Axles / Bearings

My buddy has his 95 Nitro setting in my yard and the left bearings are shot. He almost didn't make it here, Its on a 13" rim. There is a lot of scaring on the spindle but I was able to get the race off, My question is , should I put a new bearing kit on after filing or should the axle need replaced. Also where can bearings and possibly a hub be purchased at. He willing to sell like it is at a great deal.

Go to northern tool they have all kinds of trailer parts.

if the areas where the bearings sit are snug and where the seal rides are ok, it's probably all right. you can repair where the seal rides with a speedy sleeve if it's damaged.

As long as the spindle is good a smooth where all the parts ride....go for it. If not, axle replacement. Make sure the seal sits good too. Do NOT have another spindle welded on. Big mistake as no one has the jig to get correct camber and toe. We do though.
