The first B.I.T.E Watts Bar Division Tournament was held Sat. oct. 11, 2008. There were 61 teams competing in it.
The 1st Place Team of Jim Varner from Soddy Daisy and Jeff Reed from Hixson caught 19.34 lbs of bass to win $5000.00. They caught their fish swimming and hopping a jig around schools of shad minnows in about 10' of water.
Second Place was won by Tom Evans and Felix Fugate of Spring City. They caught 16.21 lbs of bass using spinnerbaits in the backs of creeks on the lower end of the lake. They won $1000.00 for their efforts.
Third place money of $750.00 was won by the team of John Justice from Oliver Springs and Adam Johnston from Kingston. John and Adam caught 14.49 lbs of bass by "junk fishing". They said that no two fish were caught on the same lure and they caught fish in 2' feet of water and 20' of water.
Big fish of the tournament was 5.87 lbs caught by Del Baldwin.
