Well to make a long story short, I came home empty handed once again. The deer were really rutting hard as I was leaving. I Had several nice bucks that got to walk because I was waiting on 130" or better. I had a monster 8 chase 3 does past my stand and at one point he was about 20 yards away, I whistled, grunted and barked like a dog trying to get him to stop but he was on a mission. I was seeing about 12 deer per sitting and seeing several shooters per day. At night when I would drive back to my campsite I was seeing several bucks that were pushing the 170s. I took pictures of all of them and just downloaded the pics only to get glowing eyes, I even tried to enhance the pics-notta! Although I have an empty tag i really enjoyed myself. I got to see bucks chasing, rubbing scrapeing, fighting, and all kinds of other neat stuff that made the time fly by. I just needed a few more days in the stand and I think I could have done something. Either way i had a greast hunt and if I can find time in my schedule I may head back after the muzzleloader/shotgun hunts. next year I'm definitely getting a gun tag! If I had my smoke pole, this would be a story about a successfull harvest!
On a side note-I dont think our rut has kicked in yet. I was seeing bucks hit all over the roads until I got south of Clarksville. So it should be in the next few weeks!
