TT, so you thought that I always catch Crappie, eh? Well, it didn't pan out for Gator and myself yesterday morning. We launched from WT around 7:00 and fished until around 12:00 or so. Not only were the skies overcast, which is not conducive to dock fishing, but also the summer pool was at 282.4 and the water line was up to the edge of most of the docks where I have found Crappie lately. Couldn't get a jig back under there in most places. With the cloud cover and rain, they were probably scattered anyway.
After a run to the river to look at other places, I pulled up on 1 dock that could be fished and caught our only keeper on the first cast. Boy, I thought we can catch Gator a mess for supper. Alas, that Crappie was the Lone Ranger. We did manage to catch a few small bluegill on some rip rap (MadBomber will be thrilled) and a couple of small bass. That was it.
The highlight of the trip for me was getting to meet and fish with Gator. What a fine Christian gentleman he is and it was my great joy to share a boat with him for a few hours. Hope we get to do this again, Gator when conditions are better.emoAngel emoGeezer
