8/20 - Sunday

Today is my 35 wedding anniversary so I went fishing. Got up at 1:15 to be at Lake Sinclair for the 4:00 AM start. We fished until noon, trying to beat the heat - didn't work. Was uncomfortably hot at 8:00 AM and miserable at noon.

My partner got a keeper as the sky started to lighten up at 6:15. Caught it in some brush by a dock. Five minutes later I got one, too. Both about 12.5 inches long. Caught another on about 10 inches long there, too.

Got another 11 inch bass at 11:00 at the bridge then worked out on a point and my partner got another keeper. That was it.

At weigh in one guy had four weighing 7.77 pounds, including a 4.78 for big fish - said he got them flipping. of the 14 of us there were three zeroes - I finished 10th with my one weighing .79 pounds.

Got home, cut the grass, fileted the three bass and took a 2 hour nap. Then cooked the bass with Jack's recipe - excellent! Will post his bass with wine and cheese sauce to that topic section.
