Well we did get the chance to fish the first round. How in one piece is the question??? Mr Lynn Hickey prepped his boat for the season. 3 new batteries, trailer bearings repumped, tires almost new. Arrive and register and check in an hour early, pick up t-shirts now prep boat for launch. Go back to boat to find left side trailer bearing heaving yesterdays lunch in the parking lot. Rookie Nerves!! Oh well Mr Lynn has spares so lets launch and fix when finished fishing.... Murphy clears his throat. While backing the boat down the ramp the wheel right below me is now grinding and popping like a movie theater popcorn machine. Guess these kids can't handle their grease like seasoned veterans. We did NOT invite Murph as a three some... butt... (not misspelled), Murphy works his chew around his jaw and spits. Motor won't spin more than a dozen spins. Flyman announces launch and we are trying all those new batteries on the motor. Thank You to the gent that loaned us a jump box. Hooked up and batteries are perfect...Yes.."Starter" joined the hurling contest. We fished CFP. Those new trolling motor batteries worked to perfection. Think we had 3 bumps on assorted spinnerbaits and crankbaits. Oh the guy that loaned us the jump box cut of off on the island point and blasted a sweet 9 lb'r less than a cast away....Murphy again....Thanks for the help from everyone at the ramp before we attempted the drive back to Sparta TN. We made it home with everything in one piece. Look out if we can make it off the ramp next time!!!
