Well, I finally have a report to contribute to CFF so here we go! Was able to get out on Chick Thursday for the fist time since April (ouch....). I told work I was sick and the doctor said I needed vitamin D to bring me back to life, so what better a place to get some sun than on the water emoLaugh . All I can say is that these fish have no idea that's November at the moment! 76 degree water temps right now, really!?!? Finding fish/bait required no effort, getting them to commit to really eating something was brutal for me most of the day. I fished from HBSP to just north of the stacks and found fish both pockets and humps in 2-7ft of water. The amount of bait I found in several pockets was truly incredible. Almost to the point that I don't think the fish were willing hardly move to eat with all the forage swimming in their face. Seemed that the first half of the creeks/pockets held the most though as the very backs of pockets seemed a little less alive than further out. I have never in my life, seen such violent strikes without hooking up as saw for the first 7hrs of this trip. 10+ explosions on baits over the mats with only 3 fish to show for our efforts, and these little stumpthumpers were nothing to be proud of... The fish that were hooked were just barely hooked so I was nervous that our trip may be a bust. After watching numerous fish over 4lbs come up and swing at frogs/swim jigs/swimbaits only to miss, I was nearing a mental meltdown by lunch time. I resorted to senkos/shakey heads for little while, but must not be doing something right with these right now because I only had a handful of strikes here, with one short fish making it back to the boat. I'm not sure what changed, but around 4pm all the fish that were short striking at baits over the mats started eating and it was on! The last hour and half was the most fun I've had in long time on the water. The violent strikes over the mats that were not hooking up earlier finally were converted to hook ups, and for a little while I actually felt like I knew how to fish! emoBigsmile We finished the day around HBSP, boating around 14 fish and missing who knows how many throughout the entire day. While nothing that made it back to the boat broke 5lbs (aka not pic worthy!!!), there were a bunch of 2-4lbers that came to play later in the day. Swimbaits and swim jigs closed out our day, but I'm pretty certain I could have thrown just about anything there towards the end of the day and it would have worked! lol. I would guess that after some cooler weather that this place would be on fire later in the month. Might be needing another dose of vitamin D by then and I can come back out! emoSun

Good luck and tight lines!!!

Great report. I was out Thursday as well and our day sounded pretty much like I was in your boat with you. Except we left before the bite turned on it seems.

Thanks, Greg

My picture worthy on some days is 3 and a half. On almost all days a 4 is pic worthy. Good report but need a pic. emoAngel Jmax

Thanks guys. Happy to be able to post. Jmax asked for it.... My buddy took this picture so his wife would believe he was fishing since we got home so late! Lol.
