Is there any bait shops near Nickajack dam or Chickamauga dam? I'm from GA and heard some pretty awesome stories about TN fishing from people I know. I want to drive out there and try fishing by dams. Any help will be much appreciated.

R&R tackle at the corner of 41 hwy and nick-a-jack dam road and Jacks bait & tackle on Bonny Oaks drive right off hwy 153. Welcome to the forum also.

R&R & Anchor Inn at nick. When you get off I-24 from GA before crossing the river, left goes to the dam, right goes to Anchor Inn. If your going across the river, left goes to the dam and right goes to R&R.

If you are looking for much tackle other than terminal and some livebait might wanna stop on the way up. Not much of a selection at some of these places. Don't get me wrong I try to buy locally but its really hard to find what you want sometimes. Soddy Custom Tackle always has alot in stock but not close to the dam

Artificial of course. I was just surprised to see that we had a store around this area that carried the type of stuff I use. Its not the best but its not terrible. If we are talking live bait I couldn't say, but it you are down this way and notice something needs refilled in your tackle, they probably have you covered.

R&R does have a good selection for the area on nick the last time 2 weeks ago when I was in anchor inn the service sucked the folks where very rude I was stand at the counter with a hand full of stuff the lady told me she was to busy at the moment I would have to wait at least 15 mins before she could come to the register so I was nice put my stuff back and walked out

R&R is a convenience store. Gas, drinks, cigarettes, snacks on one side. Live bait tanks and artificial baits on the other. Their fishing stuff isn't priced all that bad either.

If you take exit 158 (Nickajack Dam exit) and take a right, it is maybe a mile off of 24. You will hit a 4-way stop and it is directly across the road.

I someone would. nothing around really like yall said R&R but its same old stuff and price on the high side. I understand you got to make a profit but lord have mercy some is prices are crazy. And sometimes communication problems with workers. Not being a hater or nothing. You would have my Business

It aint nearly a mile; more like 1/4th. Be careful. That is not a 4-way stop. Hwy 41 does not have to stop, and if you expect them to stop someone will get hurt. Stop at Anchor Inn a lot; never had problems with service. They need to put more stuff in the minnow water tho; last ones I got were a little shakey.
