I am working in Chattanooga during the week for the next month. Does anyone have any suggestions where I might catch some Crappie in the afternoons afterwork from the bank. Say, in a 30 mile radius. Also, what techniques would work best. Thanks in advance

The most simple place to find and get a few fish is at the wood fishing pier at Chester frost park. Wait until after dark for best results and fish off the end of the pier on the left corner under the light. I was off that corner at night from my boat the other night and caught at least 15 fish of various species right there in that one spot.

The peir at Chester Frost is great advice. I haven't been over there recently, but I was tearing the crappie up off that peir right before cold weather. I work 2nd shift, so I was also going after dark. The big light at the end of the peir attracts a lot of minners. I was fishing with slip bobbers and a minner. They would also hit really good right after day break. When the sun came up they normally moved a little closer to the peir or even flip up under the peir. I also had pretty good luck with a plain white feather jig when I ran out of minners.
