Bass and Crappie 3-27-07

I went out to do some prefishing for Saturday. Started throwing a Spinnerbait, first fish a 14" Crappie. Didnt think much of it, caught them on SBs before. Next cast a 13" Crappie. O.K. the heck with the Bass for a little while, I sat right there in that one spot and caught 18 keepers ( only kept 15 of course). I never caught the first throwback, all big slabs. I caught them in 3-6 foot of water in sight of the Wolftever bridge on a white twister tail with a char. tail. I then went back to fishing for Bass and caught a small limit, maybe 12 pounds. There is alot of bedding activity going on in the shallows. I saw several males working and a few females on or near some beds. Spinnerbaits, Crankbaits.

WOW Flip .. sounds like you hit crappie jackpot!!!

Nice .. nothing better than catching slabs.

Way too crowded for me at the Wolftever bridge or within sight of it. Way to go, Flipper. emoBigsmile emoGeezer

Flip you are probably the only guy on the lake that went fishing for bass and ended up with a limit of slab crappie! Nice going!
