Had a fun day Sat. Headed to Riverpark with my 2 oldest sons @ 7:00 with the cast net & got about 5 dz. shad. Headed downriver & pitched & freelined 'em around real obvious stuff [barge tie-ups, pilings, rip rap]. If you put a shad in the water, something had it. Had 1 LM [4#], 4 SM [2 18"keepers] & so many nice spots [2-3.5#] that we lost count. I don't do live baitin' much, but boy, was it fun.
Picked up the wife at home at 12:00 & headed for Skull Is. She wanted to get out of the wind, so we headed to a couple of sloughs with some good points & channels & caught 5 with 2 keepers with 1 Brent had on a jig that went 5.1. Took Mom to the ramp about 5:00 & Brent & I headed to a couple of rockplies in 15-18'. Some current was moving & they were there. Had 2 - 5+, 2 more 4+, & 5 more good solid keepers. The big ones all hit in about a 20 min. period.
Went to KY Lake to meet with Strike King's pres. on Tues. Had a great time with a great guy. Had to fish creeks as the wind was kicking up 4-5' seas on the river. Caught a bunch of fish, but only 3 keepers on Red Eye Shad's, shakey head worms & a new SK soft plastic that they have'nt introduced yet that Doug calls the Space Monkey.
