Hello my name is Travis McFalls and i was referred to this site by a couple of fellas on the east tennessee fishing website. This semester the bass club at UT will be competing in tourneys on four lakes in Alabama. If you don't know colleges all across the country are starting up bass fishing clubs. This will be our first semester competing against other schools, such as University of Alabama, Auburn, NC State and to many more to name. the lake we will be fishing on will be
March- Wheeler
April - Weiss
May- Wilson
June- Guntersville.

Because of our club status at the university we are allowed to accepted sponsorship from companies. We are all full time students and this to us is a big chance to represent our University in the sport of tournament fishing. We are looking for all and any help possible. If you would like to help ( which could be everything from Hints on the lakes to even sponsorship ) please reply back to me and i will give you more information.

Thank you

Travis Mcfalls

Oh i am sorry if this is in the wrong forum I didn't realize it says no advertising which in a way this could be thought of. If i need to i could post in the correct forum. Whichever one that might be.

Thank you
Travis

I'm not sure what you'll find here in the way of sponsorship, but you CAN read about our trips to the area lakes and I'm sure we'll support you young folks in any way we can.

Not many of us get down to Wheeler or Wilson, but there are some that fish and report on Guntersville and (not so much) Weiss.

Best of luck to the UT anglers! (ROLL TIDE!)

Any chance of me getting a scholarship as a Bass Fisherman? If so, I might be able to convince my wife to let me fish more if I'm doing it for the betterment of my family!

Welcome to our forum... I live right in the middle of all of those lakes, and would be more than glad to help you out anyway I can. I mostly concentrate on Wheeler and Guntersville so maybe I can help you and your team out. I am a diehard Vol fan, and will do anything (LEGALLY! :)) that I can to help ya'll out. Feel free to PM me, and we'll swap phone numbers. I am near your age (26) so I want to relive some college! :)

Travis, my name is Austin Jayne and I'm a senior at UTK. I'm from chattanooga and love to wet a line.... I'm very familiar with the lakes in and around Chattanooga and Guntersville. I've got a boat... (no ranger but it's a G3 with a 70 hp) so it gets the job done..... any way you guys still have any positions left on the roster?

Thats awesome im a sophomore at UTC & im gonna look into getting one here.Do you all have boat sponsorships? How does all that work?Id like to know a lil more about that before i go talk to the university. If you can PM w/some info.

Ok i will try to respond to everyone,
Austin we are taking 3 two man teams to each event....As of right now you can be our third team. I will pm you my phone number.

As of right now there are no scholorships for bass fishing as i said before we are just a club right now.

We would appreciate all the info on the lakes we can get. I have got some local pros like Jack Wade and Ott Defoe that are gona mark some maps for me but it would be great if some of the local guys down there helped us out.. Wheeler and the southern Championship on Guntersville will be 2 and 3 day tourneys. While this is good our problem is that as of right now we are only allowed to practice fish one day before the tournaments. I don't know why but that is CBAA rules not ours. If you would like to read more about CBAA here is a website http://www.collegiatebass.org/.

Ok now for the boy at UTC go to that website and there should be some contact email. They will help you start your club
I hope i have answered everyones questions.

Oh the reason i put that sponsorship thing on there is because of the fact that everyone always knows someone that might like to help us out. It is going to cost alot of money for the team to fish these tournaments and every little bit helps.

Thank you
Travis McFalls

Welcome to the forums and good luck with the trail!

One way you guys could drum up some money is to throw a fishing Tx of your own...ADVERTISE IT!!! Pay big fish, do prizes (good ones donated) and pocket the rest for your trail. Just a thought but it would work. The key is to advertise and get dealers, companies, ect to donate some killer "want" prizes.

I like throwing the heavy football jigs with large trailers and reeling them fast, bouncing them off the bottom.
Caught quite a few that way. It provides a great reaction strike.

It figures a Tarheel would be fishing with a football jig.........can't get football any other way

Go Vols.....Phill , Bruce Pearl and UT Bass Anglers!!!!

Would anyone be interested in a Family Tradition TX with the proceeds going to these young gentlemen?

I think it is a worthy cause and maybe next year support UTC Angler (if he can convince UTC to agree to participate)!!

Travis , I don`t know if you are one of the young men that stopped by our Blueridge Bassmasters booth at the Fishin Show a couple of weeks ago or not , but I told the guys that I talked to that I would bring it up in our next meeting.
Well I did bring it up and was going to propose writing you all a check but decided it might be better to get some of your group to come to a meeting and tell us how we could best help.
I read at the ET fishin forum that couple of you were from Powell (where I grew up). One of our members ,Michael Patterson, who is also Regional Director for The Tenn Bass Federation (FLW) lives in Powell and had met and/or knows one of you guys. We decided to let him make contact and see if you could attend our next meeting and /or let us know how we can help.
Speaking for myself and kind of a feel from the other guys that we might want to kind of adopt you all and help you all get going on a continuing basis. Somewhat of a sponsorship. We carried over a little money from last year and maybe could use it as seed money for a Benefit TX for the Team. Just thinking out loud hear right now but we definitely want to help out.
I like to talk to you sometime so if you get a chance, give me a call at 865-458-1478 or cell 865-803-5357 after 5:30 mon-sat . thanks Pat Reedy
