Went to the bar to try out new trolling motor. Started out up the Emory where the water is muddy like coffe and cream, it was 58 degrees. Went to Riley Creek, and the bass and stripe are slamming some shad in there. Water was 62 at the warmest muddy in the back, but clear out towards the lake. I caught 7 bass, 4 were keepers, and a few stripe. White Spinnerbait with gold willow and bandit 300 in fire tiger caught all my fish. They were all caught in the first few channel bends at the tip of the drop offs. 4 feet to ten was the magic depth.

Great report. It was great to meet you last weekend. The Emory looks pretty shallow, how deep is the channel where you were fishing? Is it usually off colored most of the year?

I love the new motor, it handles the wind pretty well.

Polo-dog, the Emory is fairly deep until you pass the train tressle above Harriman. It averages 30' on down and has some holes near 50. It is clear in the winter, almost gin clear. Late spring, the algea blooms and it is not as clear. Water level and clarity depends on the amount of rain that crossville gets, and is unregulated above Harriman. It has a fairly large watershed to feed it. When Watts Bar comes up, the striper make a run up there and with the clear water, you can see thousands of them on the shoals. They swim around in balls, and are easily caught on white roostertails and little cleo spoons.

It was a pleasure meeting you as well polo-dog, I had a great time and look forward to the next one.
