I am not much of a bass fisher but that is something I am trying to change this year. I was wondering what you guys would suggest on the bass this weekend with the cold front moving in? Would they still be in the creeks just moved out on the points next to deeper water or do I need to concentrate on stump fields and flip a a jig? What baits would you have tied on if you had 3 rods? I am thinking a jig on one a crankbait on one and a spinnerbait on the third. Should I be throwing a trap or is that too aggressive?
I will be on the Chick. If you guys have tips you don't want to share on the open forum please send them to me by PM.

thanks for all the tips guys emoPoke. I don't want any secrets I am just looking for some basic techniques and colors that I can try and maybe catch a few bass.

If I had just 3 rods to rig for bass fishing for this time of year I would put on a 1/4 or 1/2 oz Chrome and blue or a red rattletrap , a 3/8 or 1/2 oz white and chartruese spinnerbait and a 3/8 oz black and blue pig and jig . And fish shallow . The bass are moving up to get ready to spawn .

Tr19 nailed it. That would be my choice of an arsenal to go after them right now. In a week or so of warm weather I'd try some top water too.

Try free lining some live shad that are below the dam on some rip rap. You can't go wrong with that. Why do you think a Tournament director will not let you fish with live bait in a Tournament. DEADLY on the BIG FISH. Find them with your graph and it's not to hard right now to find them below the dam take a cast net and keep you about a dozen or so in a live well. Should only be able to go 50 yds or less before you have got a bite. So easy a 4 yr. old can do it.
