Got back in and decided to try to see what the lake was like, so Friday I went for a boat ride.

I had a little fun, and all were released.

Next time i took the wife to crappie fish and we finished with about 20 with 7 keepers and she caught an Alabama smallmouth on her ul and had a ball

I went solo on Sunday to try an obscure crappie hole and it was not happening so I tried a nearby whitey hole and there they was.

I started with crappie jigs and switched to the old faithful tail spin. success on both as I started to upscale the fish.

Started with small ones and graduated to 2 and 2+ boatpaddles and a couple nice TGFs One after the other every cast FUN emoThumbsup

The next day I tried my hand at guiding. I called one person whom I knew would love to damage those fish and definitely needed a guide trip, so DK agreed to go with me the next AM.

I put him on top of the school with help from the bird and he caught his limit. We did a muti-species thing and quit before most others were going out

I had a grand time and again it was more than fun to go fishing with my mentor. He showed me some new ideas and for a while we were shooting the fish in a barrel

Thanks again for going with me DK, you know I need the help emoGeezer emoAngler

Nice to be back after 6 months of bass fishing fun back home

Glad you are back and making reports. Great pix and D K's will always make a good starter on a trip.

GLAD YOU ARE BACK. I THOUGHT THAT WAS DK WITH YOU WHEN Q AND I SAW YOU AS WE WERE GETTING OUT. NEVER TALKED TO DK, BUT I KNOW WHAT HE LOOKS LIKE FROM HIS POSTS. CATCHING WHITES SOUNDS GOOD, BUT I HAVEN'T FISH FOR THEM EXCEPT ON THE JUMP IN FRONT OF POWER PLANT.

I love seeing different reports like this! Those look like lot of fun to try to get my wife on. She isn't big on fishing (probably because I'm her teacher). She like to eat them though. Are those fish good to eat? And would it be possible to be able to catch enough to keep her occupied? I would really like to have her get into fishing!

Thanks for taking me fishing this day, Pat. My limit is not the limit for whites though. Just wanted people to know. I wanted 10 for the freezer since white bass is now my new favorite fish to eat. I mis-counted and we kept 11. Not keeping anymore for a long time. How did you like my new idea for these catching these whites? emoBigsmile emoGeezer It worked this day anyway.

DK, I plan on another run tomorrow, will let you know how it goes.
Can't wait to try the others too
Thank you for a great time
You need to let troutfly know how to remove the red for great flavor ( Hear his wife likes to eat fish)
Good luck buddy

I have to try this! Are these white bass hard to locate? I have caught similar looking fish, but they were yellow and much, much smaller. We love eating fish, and we eat it 3 times a week most weeks. Well, depending on how the trout or bluegills are responding anyways. I don't really like trout, but the wife does. I'd like to catch some of these for the freezer. No fish I keep ever goes to waste!
