Finally got to get on the lake saturday. It was a tough fishing day due to the 25 MPH wind but we hid behind a land mass that protected us some. Lake elev. at about 355' which is a foot over winter pool. Water clarity was stained and water temp was 47 degrees. We fished from 10' to 16' in mats and brush piles but only had 7 keepers out of a total of about 15 fish. We caught all our crappie on live minnows under a slip bobber. We would cast past the brush pile and let the wind bring our offering into the pile. Though fishing was tough, it was great to get out and spend time with family.
