Fished the 3rd stop of the Chattanooga Bass Yakkers tournament trail out of Soddy Creek on Saturday. Luckily, the fog kept most of the CBA boats inside Chesterfrost so we didn't really get the boat traffic we were expecting. I fish rocky shoreline and laydowns with traps, cranks, spinnerbaits, and worms. Caught fish on crankbaits and shakeyhead with watermelon worm. Ended up 5th in the tournament and winner of big fish. We had 19 fish our tournament and gave away some nice prizes including a pair of Costa Del Mar sunglasses. Sunday was a fun day with the kiddos. Keller, my 2 year old son, has been bugging me the last 2 weeks to take him fishing. I was waiting on the water to come up so there would actually be water around the dock. We fished wax worms this afternoon and the fish were there and they were hungry! We caught bream, shellcrackers, and crappie. We packed a picnic and had a great time fishing. I even gave them a ride in the kayak. They thought it was the ocean as windy as the Chick was today. Won't be long for those shellcrackers. They are already showing up in shallow water. The ones we caught were full of eggs.
