Chickamauga came in 61st place, below such world class fisheries as Squam Lake, New Hampshire, Trap Pond, Delaware, Arbuckle lake, Oklahoma, and Perry Reservoir, Kansas.

The less people know about Chickamauga, the better we all are.

Somebody hasn't done their homework. I fished Coeur d'Alene back in the early 60's and it was basically a trout lake. And a really good one at that. Sounds like things have changed. I agree Chick is a home to a few drum and cats and that is about it. Don't bother fishing here or having any tourneys. emoTskTsk

Lake Coeur d'Alene is my favorite lake in the world and a great bass fishery, mostly LM but ok SM. I haven't fished there for bass in years but I'm there almost every fall pike fishing with my homies, it's incredible and we always accidently catch a few nice LM. And I'm with several others above, Chickamauga doesn't need the popularity, it's already too busy, let the crowds flock to Guntersville...

Shhhhhhhhhhhhhhh..... emoTskTsk emoZipped They are right, our lake really is poor....there are no bass in the Chick, I am sure everyone was locking through to the G. Repeat after me....There are no bass in the chick. emoBigsmile Jmax

Wonder how the ratings are done? Popularity, average size fish, number of fish, number of anglers....would love to fish falcon!

The rankings were compiled state by state using this criteria:

Information from electroshock and angler catch rate surveys from every state's Department of Natural Resources.

B.A.S.S. Federation Nation presidents from every state were asked to rank the top lakes in their states based on tournament results.

Federation Nation Conservation Directors were asked to rank the bass lakes in their states based on access, stocking practices, and current health of each fishery.

A blue ribbon panel of experts, including outdoor writers, Elite Series anglers, and fishing industry leaders from across the country were asked to organize these lakes based on the priorities of bass anglers.
