Just watched the weigh-in from Falcon lake. What a lake that must be. 42 pounds is leading and if you brought in 20 pounds you would be in 80th place. And most anglers said the wind blew so hard they could'nt fish the way they wanted. Could be some records broke.

That lake is HOT.......Mega Bass down there...Very little fishing pressure sure makes a difference on the lakes down there according to the pro interviews on BassZone..One said that it must be like fishing was 30 years ago on almost all lakes in the south....Less anglers and more bass

Is this the 1st BASS event on Falcon? I'd never even heard of it until last month

Yes, 5 fish. He had an 11lber in his sack. That means the rest of his 4 fish averaged over 7lbs!! That's stupid big!!

What I want to know is how the guy in last place (Bobby Myers) zeroed. Did he even fish? Was he on the same lake as everyone else? Guys that caught 20 pounds found themselves in 75th - 80th place. That must be one awesome lake .

Falcon and Amistad were both 30+ feet below full pool 10 or so years ago during a long drought. Tons of brush grew in the area formerly occupied by the lake. The lakes have been at full pool, or nearly so for about 5 years and the lakes are now incredibly fertile. Coupled with fairly low pressure (Amistad is in the middle of nowhere) the fishing is outrageous.

I fished Amistad 12 years ago when the fishing "stunk". In a week of fishing just by hiking around the bank, I caught several 7 pound fish and many, many smaller ones. And that was in July, probably the worst month of fishing with temps 105+ everyday.

I bet after this tournament you won't be able find a parking spot at a launching ramp for weeks, or months, to come. BTW, anybody up for a road trip to Texas? emoBigsmile
