OK, I lower myself to begging. I'm broke. Constantly. Will be for several years. Fish from the bank. i was talking to my father-in-law this weekend in Gainesville GA. He has a friend selling his lake house on Lake Lanier. The man has a 20' center console that he wants rid off. Free. Get it? Mr. Stuck on the bank has a shot at a free boat. That runs. That doesn't need any work. And it is a larger boat so My family can enjoy it. Now, the catch. I need a trailer. I need a dual axle trailer that can carry a 20' boat. I need to own the trailer. Surely there is one out there, or you know of one out there that someone is just tired of looking at and want it out of there yard. HELP ME....PLEASE

Beg over.

There have been a few for sale on here of late. Maybe you could at least get one to get the boat home. Then figure out what to do next...

If it is a skiff type or flatbottom, just find or borrow a utility trailer to get it home. Then you could begin the search or even build one to suit. Once you get it home you can remove it from the borrowed trailer pretty easily with jacks or winches and set it on the ground for a short time.

Check with some of the local drydocks. Many times folks will drydock their boats in storage and also store their trailers there too. After a while folks get tried of paying for storage on a trailer they never use and sell them dirt cheap. I'd ask a round. I had a buddy who got a trailer from a guy this way....got it for nearly nothing. Also many places have trailers you can rent if its just a matter of getting it home.

I agree with Mallard on this or you might be able to rent a boat trailer from someone just to get the boat home, worry about the trailer when you get your hands on the boat. If you wait too long the boat will be gone, go get it now, now, now. You shold be gone after the boat as we speak or I would if I was in your shoes.

Nevermind. After reading the advice on here I called and told the Dad-in-law I was renting a trailer and would come and get it. He called his buddy and it had been gone for a week. It seems another friend he told about the boat bought a trailer the next day and got it.

Maybe next time.

Sorry you missed out on the free boat but it could be a "blessing in disguise" as if you think you're broke now, just wait until you get a boat. emoBang

Aint that the truth lol .. aint a boat around that there aint nothing wrong with ... most of all a boat sitting in the lake 24/7 365

We would have trouble sitting with all the money in our wallets!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Then try doing what I want to do and spend all your money on tools and spare parts in case one GRENADES!!!! JDK< Did you get you boat fixed?
