Fished below Chickamauga Dam form the bank this morning form about 8 – 10:30 AM. Number 2 was churning and the rock pile was visible. Started out with a heavy spoon making cast into the boil, nothing. Slid down the bank between the pier and train trussel and fished light jigs and nothing. Walked down the river walk a ways and continued to fish small jigs and snagged a 7 pound buffalo. He was fun foul hooked on 4 lb test.
There were three boats out but I didn’t see anyone catching anything. Nice frosty morning!!!

I went yesterday with my son from the bank from about 3-5 and fished from below the RR bridge all the way to the pier throwing crappie jigs, redfins, storm shad. They were running 3 turbines and the rockpile was just visible. I thought I saw Jerdog out there... The only fish I saw was a dead rockfish about 15 pounds in the rocks. Not even a nibble, but it was still a nice day talking with my son teaching him how to use a larger spinning rod.

Ya, that was me...I was out there too yesterday afternoon with my son below Chickamauga...had the itch to get out of the house...a good day to be on the water, weather-wise. Only managed two small fish..2 largemouth or spots...caught them on one of our holes DHaun and I fish often...fish were caught on live shiners while drifting the hole. Both fish were FAT! I don't think I have seen a fish that small and be that FAT! They are feeding, just got to find them when they are on.

Talked with a couple other guys who helped with my boat and they said they got nothing. Hey how do you tell the difference b/t a largemouth and a spot?

Hey, everyone have a Merry Christmas!

Easiest way is to feel the patch of rough stuff on the tongue, spots have it LM's don't. Other easy one it to close the mouth and the spot's mouth doesn't extend past the eye where the LM's does. Spots tend to be lighter in coloration but that is variable.
