Foodsaver and I launched about 5:45pm after work and headed to a few catfish holes downstream from the Dam in my boat. Water was up and the current was screamin' tonight...water temp was 86. The bite has been off for me on the river and it was no different tonight, but we did manage one small flathead on some skipjack and a couple hangups in a few old trot lines...
Just before dusk we managed a few bass. Foodsaver had a few of RR's lures and and they got plenty of bites. Nothing huge tonight...the biggest was a 2lb smallie off some rocks near 12ft on a jig doctored up to look similar to what Beetlespin makes. I didn't bother with a pic after what was hauled in Monday night.... We left about 8:30. Not the most productive night on the water but it was great to meet foodsaver and to check out if the catfish bite has changed at all.
I may try to get out on Chickamauga early Sunday morning around 6:00am for Catfish if I'm not too tired from eating all that food at the picnic! If anyone is interested in joining me, send me a PM.
