<font size="2">Madison was diagnosed with Stage IV Neuroblastoma in 2005 at the age of 3. Neuroblastoma is a very aggressive solid tumor childhood cancer with a survival rate of 30%. Madison had a tumor in her chest, a tumor consuming most of her abdominal area, and disease in her bone marrow.
Madison underwent the regular protocol,
which included numerous rounds of harsh chemotherapy, a 9 hour surgery to remove the tumor in her abdomen, a stem cell transplant, and 12 rounds of radiation and numerous blood and platelet transfusions After the completion of the protocol, she had disease left on her remaining kidney. She had an additional surgery to remove the tumor in her chest. She has done additional chemotherapy combination's, an antibody study, and accutane in attempt to further decrease the remaining disease. Currently, Madison has disease present on her renal artery and vertebrae. Thankfully, her bone marrow has been cleared of the cancer. Madison has recently been enrolled in a trial study in Birmingham in hopes of finding the drug to completely rid her body of any cancer cells.
Despite this nasty disease, Madison does not let it stop her from living a regular, happy life. She is a 8 year-old energetic, spunky, strong-willed, and tough little girl. She is an 2nd grader and enjoys socializing with her friends, playing with her dog, and playing her Wii. Madison is also the best big sister to her 1 year-old little sister who absolutely adores her. She is a ray of sunshine to all that meet her, and her presence always leaves a smile on your face. Madison is such an inspiration as she fights this disease, but never misses a moment to live life to the fullest!
The money that is raised for Madison will go towards paying for her treatments in Birmingham and all her current medical bills/ travel expenses. Thank you so much for your support!
