Since my duck gun got stole a few weeks ago, im looking at the 12 gauge nova.Does anybody have any feedback on the bennelli??

I have had one for about 7 years now, and really like it. The only problem I have had is short-shucking a time or to. Thats what you get being short...and in a pit blind you can hardly see out of, and ducks with feet down!

Does your nova have the true glow sight on it? If so, does it screw out, or is it permanatley fixed? The only thing i dont like about the nova is the sight, but if it can be replaced with a round pin sight, i will probably buy one.

I just bought a Benellia SuperNova after having shot a Remington 870 for 30 years. 870's are the most reliable guns ever made... although a used 3-inch 870 I bought decided that it didn't want to shuck shells in the rain. Got a good deal on the SuperNova so decided to give it a try. I'll tell you how I like it in 30 years. emoBigsmile

It definitely has a different "feel" to the action that will take some getting used to, but I'm sure I will (if I ever find any ducks to shoot at). Main thing I like is the finish... 870's are bad to rust once the blue gets worn down. From what I read and see, a Benelli finish will hold up better and rust should never be an issue.

Ok so I will tell one on myself here. For years, I have refused to own an auto shotgun as I have a bad habit of emptying the gun on any bird I shoot at. The problem is, my Nova will cycle faster in my hands than any auto gun I have shot against. Just ask my boss the next time you hunt with him Richard...the joke is I own the only "automatic Nova". Doves, geese, ducks, clay-bids, quail, pheasants makes no difference, if it aint on the ground yet, I keep shooing..

. Funny thing is, I bought a SBE-II last year, and have started to control myself. Dont know why, but I guess I am just more consince of my "problem".

The point of all this is, the Nova, is one of the fastest cycling guns you will ever shoot, period.

I think im gonna go with the nova. I looked at one today at sportsmans and asked about the sight. The salesman said you can take the tru glow out and there is a allen screw in the middle. Unscrew it and i can put in a round pin sight. Thanks for the feedback, hopefully it will be a great gun. Your right simms, I cut my teeth on the 870 and have had it for 13 years. I still use it to turkey hunt with, excelent gun!

Well i looked all around chattanooga and even tried big daddys for a nova black senthetic stock 28 inch 12 gauge, and i had no luck. So i went down to sportsmans and since i was in a jam, i ended up buying a stoeger 12 gauge pump. Look wise, it is similar to a benelli, but when i held it, and shouldered up, it shouldered better than the nova. The rib on the gun is a little higher, just like i like it, therefore it is easier to get down on the sight. If you havent held one, yall need to try it out. Im sure i will love this gun, and cant wait to try it out this weekend.emoDance

You will like that gun! Made by Benelli, just their economy version. You should get many years of service. let us know how you like it.

Love my nova. Only thing I could say is that the synthetic stock really did a job on my left hand while we went afield with gloves on in cool weather and by mid morning we were hot and wishing we were close to the truck to drop off jackets, hats and gloves. My hands were sweating and were damp while we got into the pheasants. By the end of the weekend, my left hand was raw as hamburger from the synthetic. Always tell people they better make sure they want that type of stock... I sanded mine down a bit to knock off the sharp edges. Had to.
