Bent Key

Yesterday I think my coat caught on the ignition key and bent it pretty bad. I straightened it out with pliars so it would crank the motor and that got us home. I have a spare key but I am wondering if you can order replacement keys. It is a 225 Optimax engine and a Bass Cat Cougar boat. Anyone know? Do they make unique keys or just several series.

can you not get a locksmith to copy/ or hardware store

Bill, I think the keys are Engine specific. You should be able to get one from a Mercury dealer. There is a code on the key that you can give to the dealer.
