Did the old launch w/ trolling motor down deal.(hope it's old) Bent the shaft. I came up with a home remedy that seemed to work. Motor Guide 70 pro. It consist of a c-shaped frame of 2x4s(bottom of the c against the motor, back of the c against the garage ceiling and top of the c just under the head of the drive unit) Placed a webbing strap around the shaft to a come-along around the top of the "c"(inluding a joist) with the strap right on the bend. Cranked on the come-along till it was right- all while the tr motor was on the boat.

I can see how launching you boat with the trolling motor down could bend the shaft. Good job fixing.

Not that I'd know.........but if I were ever to bend mine I'd leave it on the boat in the garage, hold on to a rafter, and jump on the shaft until it was straight again. Works great (not that I'd know, of course emoBigsmile )
