Has anyone here tried the Ironsilk from Berkley? We got some of it and it feels like it wouldent hold a knot very well. And sortta feels like small weedeater string

I have a cousin that loves it. Now mind you he's a Yankee and may not know any better.emoBigsmile I got some for free one time and within the past couple of trips out spooled it up on one of my spinning reels. I haven't had any problems to date but all I've managed to boat are a couple of small largemouth on it so it hasn't been properly tested to date. I use a palomar knot on most of my lures and using that line it's held firm. The color does sort of concern me a little as does the feel of the line like you noted. I'm going to try a little bit more field testing before I bless it though.

I put some on last year and am still using it.....have used it a lot and it seems to be as good as a year ago

I generally change my line at least every few months whether it needs it or not but haven`t changed it since I put it on ...I usually use it for small crankbaits on a spinning reel and really like it for that.....it just doesen`t seem to twist up
It does have a different feel to the touch and can`t remember breaking it off on fish or even when hung in brush....very tough...I can`t see the line to line watch with plastics or jigs /shaky`s so I just use it with smaller cranks mostly.
Just make sure you have good knot tie ....one that doesn`t make the line wavy when you pull it down....it`s damaged when it gets that little wavy looking above the knot.
