If they both do the same thing to help clean the inside of an outboard motor, why spend three times more $ for the sea foam?

Thanks,
Bill

Naphtha 64742-49-0 25.00 - 35.00 N/Av >5000 mg/kg N/Av
IPA 67-63-0 10.00 - 20.00 17000ppm 4720mg/kg 12890mg/kg

I'm not sure any of it actually does anything. Gasoline is a pretty powerful solvent.

Wait till you put it in a plastic cup to measure it out, and then come back to it and you wont have a bottom on the cup!!!

The top Mercury motor tech's that I know say to use Quick Kleen and Seafoam together so that is what I use. Motors cost too much to go out trying new products that haven't been tested.

IF this counts as any test......I have used Berryman's B-12 in marine and automotive engines with GREAT results. IF you know anything about PROFESSIONAL injector cleaning, they use 100% Toluene which is the first thing in Berryman's B12. It is a LOT stronger than Sea Foam. KEEP IN MIND THIS IS CONCENTRATED...... Take 2 automotive paint cups and add some Seafoam and B-12. IN 15 minutes The B-12 will eat the cup. I have had Sea-foam in the same paint cups for days with no damage. That is why B-12 is 1 oz per gallon and seafoam is 2 oz per gallon. Of course these are my experiences and my opinions.

Yellbert call me about his boat idling poorly. I told him to try the B-12 and after only 1 use (overnight) he was amazed at the results. Even his partner noticed how much smoother it was running.

I could tell you several MIRACLE stories but the more of you who DON"T buy the B-12 will help keep the price down! LOL!!

It is not as strong as you may thing. Get gas on your paint and it does nothing. Spill some B-12 on it and it will dull the paint. If you have varnish in your carb or build up in your injectors, fuel will not remove it. Call Tony Brucato and ask him what he sees on cleaning the hundreads of injectors he cleans a week off of engines that are used all the time and don't use cleaners. You would also be surprised at what some brands of fuels do to the injectors. I have sent injectors to Tony to be cleaned and Linda call asking what brand of fuel the customer uses because of what they are seeing on the flow rate of injectors. I have rebuilt a lot of EFI engines that have blow due to dirty injectors that came off of engines that get used all the time. I will not build a EFI without having them cleaned and flow tested. Most of the time a injector was the cause. Some people even have the injectors cleaned by Tony yearly because of the risk of failure. Cheaper to have them cleaned and flow tested than to rebuild the engine. You could do this for 15 years and still be cheaper than a rebuild. Just my opinion....

On good thing about Ethanol fuel is it does have more cleaning properties than 100% gas because it does have a solvent in it. Didn't say a good one though....... Just my opinion...

Question - Do you know if this stuff would be too strong for weedeaters and lawnmowers occasionally? Don't want to eat my gaskets and fuel lines up!!!

It is safe for all of that as well. I have ran it in my truck, lawn mower, 4 wheeler, and scooter with no issues. Just FOLLOW the direction.
