Best Alabama Lakes - What months

I know a bunch of you fish some of the Alabama Lakes. Georgia Outdoor News is starting Alabama Outdoor News in June and they have asked me to write a "Map of the Month' article about lakes there. In those articles I find a local fisherman that is willing to share patterns and tactics for that month on that lake and write about them, then put ten holes on a map where you can try those patterns.

I am trying to set up a schedule. Looks like Guntersville in February is a pretty good bet. Any other suggestions for other months? I am working on June/July (the first issue) thru May of 08.

Any of you interested in helping with one of those articles? It will get you some publicity if you are interested in that kind of stuff.

Wheeler in late April - May is very very good. If you can find a flat with a ditch across it, then you found the fish.

Weiss in October is apparently outstanding as well.

Thanks for the ideas - I will try to use them. I will probably use Martin for October since I am familiar with it - fish it every year in October.

I'll take July or August on Guntersville over any other time of the year.
