ok shooters I have a savage axis in 223 it is not shooting a real tight group I have shot a few different rounds with no luck any ideas will be put to good use thanks

I've had consistent results with hornady superformance in various calibers. Sometimes on the smaller calibers, going to a heavier bullet helps.

I will try that in the am I got to do something this thing is not doing well at 75 yards it is holding around an 8" group and that is not going to work hell I have an ar15 at that range that will hold .5"groups with what ever you feed it this has me confused

That's more than ammo. Check your scope mounts, see that they're tight. Re-zero the rifle at 25 yds then move out to 100 then 200.

Look at the twist on your barrel too. When I was buying my AR they were saying (don't kill me if I get these numbers wrong) 1/7 twist is best for lighter bullets 1/11 was best for heavier and the 1/9 was great for either one.

I woulds check out the scope as well. With a group that size at that yardage, I wouldn't put the blame on ammo. Wolf full metal jacket would do better than that at 150 yds.

All I'm saying is I've shot better groups at 100 yds shooting 12GA slugs out of a smooth barrelled shotgun with open sights. I think there's more to your problem than ammo. Does your muzzle have a good crown on it? I bought a Remington 1100 for cheap because I was told it needed a new barrell. Problem was the end of the muzzle was never smoothed out. Just cut flush and had a sharp edge. I fixed it with a dremel tool and it shot like a champ.
